5 Chemo treatments down!!!

Well I had my 5th chemo treatment on Tues 6/16/09. And of course I didn't want to go, but the good news is, they changed my chemo drug. The new chemo drug is called Taxol. So with this drug I should have less nausea (Thank God). But what the doctor told me was that I would have body aches kinda like the flu that would last 3 to 4 days. The day of Chemo everything was fine, I felt fine, looked fine I was good. Day 2 same thing felt fine, looked fine, I was loving this new chemo drug. But by the evening of day 2 OMG! the aches started, and man oh man was I in pain. I mean everything hurt, my arms, my legs, my head, my but, my feet you get the pic right. The doctor told me tylenol would help or she could prescribe me Tylenol 3, so for the last 4 days including today, I have been doped up on tylenol, but had I known it would feel like this, I would have gotten the Tylenol 3. And on top of that I've been constipated ( is that TMI?) oh well we're sharing right?

Now today is Saturday, and usually I'm all good by Saturday, but my body still aches not as bad as yesterday, but bad enough to pop tylenol. and I have the headache I can't shake. So I am gonna try and get these aches and pains under control so I can take my daughter swimming, since it's suppose to be 86 degrees today.

It's hard being sick when you have a child.

My Son is Graduating Tonight.

Hallelujah! is the Highest praise, and this occasion sure deserves it. My son's High School Graduation. Man on man, I've have been waiting on this for 18 long years. At first it was looking kinda of scarce like it wasn't going to happen, but he pulled it out of bag Hallelujah! I know it was GOD's grace and mercy that allowed this to happen, and I Thank God. (Thank you Father)!

I never understood when my momma said "I can't wait until you are 18". But baby now I know first hand. I'm so glad he is 18 and out of school, I mean the next step is moving out, right? Shit it better be hopefully sooner than later. Wait first his lazy ass needs to get a job. Does he realize we are in a recession. ohhhh that's a whole nother post. Let's just stick with graduation before I get to damn emotional.

Awww I'm so glad he is gradating I will be there with bells on (because this is my off week of Chemo, Let's Thank GOD for that too). And there will be tears, tears of JOY! Like I said it was a little scare looking in the beginning, but he pulled it out of the bag. Thank you Jesus!

I went to visit my work family.

Yesterday, my daughter and I were out, so we stopped by my job. I haven't been by there since my leave started back in April. I really miss those guys and apparently they miss me too. But who wouldn't miss me, I'm Fabulous. I light up a room, I make people smile. Don't forget how cute I am, and I dress to impress. (is that enough tooting my own horn, lol).

But for real, it was nice to see all the familiar faces. And just talk and laugh. I miss my team. They all look real good too. But I worry about my work load, I know it's being handled by a couple of people. Even though they have their on work load. I wish I could just do some at home. Because when I get back OMG, I know its gonna look like it was neglected like a orphan...

For my work family who reads my blog. Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I plan on coming back to see yall, especially since we are having a bar b que. (free food yeah I'm all in). I hope we get a new grill, lol..

What's animal are you?

Today when my daughter woke up, she said "Mommy I'm a bunny". I said "why are you a bunny baby", she said "because they are soft and cute like me". Then she asks "Mommy what animal are you?" So I pondered over this question, thinking I'm a Diva (and not a female version of a hustla) a real Diva. I love to dress, I love shoes, I love attention, so I must be a peacock I told her. Yeah I'm a peacock, they love attention, and they love to show off their tails. Yep we are one in the same.

So what animal are you, and Why?

The weekend Help!

I woke up today with a sore throat, from being out in the cold rain yesterday. My immune system is kind of shotty due to my chemo treatments. Even though this shouldn't be an issue since it's JUNE. So why is it 47 and raining, and I had on boots in damn JUNE!!! ( just had to get that out)

So today is the day to go back the clinic to give another blood sample for the blood culture. And I did not want to go. I'm so tired of these people poking me and taking my blood.

When my husband woke up he was so nice, telling me that I need to go. And I snapped out on him, telling him how I was tired and just didn't want to go. I swear he is such a patient man. He didn't even flinch he just listened, and hugged and kissed me. I felt so bad about being mean, I had to apologize.

We get up and get dressed to go to the funky clinic. At the clinic we are the only ones in the waiting area, and it still took them almost 30 minutes to call me. (WTF took them so long, nobody else is here). (I don' t like the weekend help).. Finally she calls me back, and before I even went back. I told my husband that she didn't look like she knew what she was doing. But my optimistic husband always trys to look on the bright side, he says maybe she is not the weekend help, maybe she is doing overtime. (awww he so sweet).

But

She was tapping on my arm with her cold hands which seem like forever looking for my vein. ugh! Then when she finally found it. She put so much alchol on arm, I smelled like a drug store. She poked me with the needle and proceeds to extract my blood. And she took a lot, so I thought. She had the blood culture bottles, (2 of them) and about 4 or 5 other tubes for blood. She took the needle out, and proceeded to fill the culture bottles one by one, then a tube. Then the helfa said, "I need to take more blood, this is not enough". Yep instant attitude. So she then draws blood from my other arm, which she couldn't find the vein in that one either. I'm going to say it again, I don't like the weekend help!!!
